What a weekend in Besançon! Athletes from across Europe came together in the heart of France for the 2025 Europe Triathlon Para Championships — and the result was a day of exceptional performances, emotional moments, and unforgettable racing.
The streets, rivers, and hills of Besançon provided the perfect stage for para triathletes to shine. From sunrise to the final finish line, spectators witnessed true sporting spirit as competitors pushed themselves beyond limits, chasing titles, personal bests, and the pride of representing their countries.
Among the standout performances, two familiar names once again led the way. Spain’s Susana Rodríguez, a Paralympic and world champion, delivered a masterclass in the PTVI Women’s race, adding another European title to her remarkable career. In the PTS5 Men’s field, France’s Alexis Hanquinquant showed why he remains the man to beat, storming to victory in front of a home crowd that roared him on every step of the way. But this championship was about much more than medals. It was about resilience, joy, and connection — between athletes, guides, coaches, volunteers, and fans. The Europe Triathlon family showed once again what makes this sport so special.
To every athlete who raced, to the city of Besançon, the local organising committee and to all who cheered, thank you for being part of something extraordinary. We can’t wait for the next stop on the journey.
